Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology- The University of New Mexico (UNM) is both a Carnegie Very High Research University and a federally designated Hispanic-Serving Institution. Located in Albuquerque, the largest metropolitan area in the state, UNM features a growing campus that reflects the cultures and diversity of the Southwest and fosters an excellent work environment for its faculty and learning environment for its students. The Chemistry & Chemical Biology Department currently has 18 tenure-track faculty and 5 lecturers and visiting faculty supported by 11 staff members. We award ~40 undergraduate and ~10-15 graduate degrees each year to students from across New Mexico, the western US, and the world.
