Pittsburg State University (PSU) is a regional school Located in the southeast corner of Kansas, PSU is within two hours of Tulsa, Okla., Kansas City, Springfield, Mo., and Fayetteville, Ark. PSU is primarily undergraduate school of more than 7,000 students where the student to faculty ratio is 19-to-1. The Chemistry Department at PSU currently consists of 9 faculty members that are active in research with expertise ranging from Analytical chemistry, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical chemistry, and Polymer chemistry. The Chemistry department is also affiliated with the Kansas Polymer Research Center, a nationally known facility for conducting state of the art bio-based polymer research. The department of chemistry is ACS certified and grants Bachelor’s degree with six major emphases including the professional, ACS approved emphasis. The department of chemistry also has a master’s program that usually has on the average of 10 Master students.
