Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), with 26,000 students, is located 30 miles southeast of Nashville. The University offers, through nine colleges and thirty-six academic departments, baccalaureate instruction in the liberal and fine arts, the sciences, education, business, mass communication, and a variety of other fields. Graduate programs are offered at the master’s, specialist, and doctoral levels.
