The ENST Department, established in 2006, is a growing interdisciplinary department with a high level of collaborative collegiality. The University of Maryland, College Park is one of the nation’s top 20 public research universities and the flagship campus of the University System of Maryland. It has over 2,500 faculty members, 25,000 undergraduate, and 10,000 graduate students. The campus is ideally situated on the Metro rapid transit line that serves the greater Washington, DC area and is in close proximity to federal EPA, USDA, NOAA, DHHS (NIH, FDA), USGS, NSF and other Federal government institutions and is within the ecologically important Chesapeake Bay watershed. The USDA Beltsville Agricultural Research Center, the National Agricultural Library, and the USGS Patuxent Wildlife Research Center are a short drive from campus.
