Polymer Analytical Chemist
Flint Hills Resources is seeking a Polymer Analytical Chemist to join our lab team at our Longview, TX polypropylene plant. In this role, you will support product development, manufacturing, and technical support by providing polypropylene characterization and stabilization expertise. You will play an integral part in achieving the group’s vision by capitalizing on our competitive advantage of being a niche supplier in the polypropylene market.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Polypropylene characterization analysis and interpretation
Analytical method development
Engaging with Product Development to improve our product slate
Supporting manufacturing and quality control in method development
Anticipating internal customer needs
Adapting to and driving change: our business requires innovation to succeed, always looking to improve our product into higher value markets
Using your knowledge of polypropylene structure, property relationships, polypropylene polymerization catalysis and stabilization
Designing test methods involving GC-MS, LC-MS, GPC and NMR
What You Will Need:
10+ years of experience in the polymer, refining and/or medical industry
Knowledge and application of analytical test methods including GC-MS and LC-MS
PhD in Chemistry from an accredited institution
What Will Put You Ahead?
Experience with GPC, NMR, Rheology and/or FTIR
Experience .NET programming languages for lab equipment data collection and processing
