The Department of Chemistry at the University of Florida (http://www.chem.ufl.edu) is seeking applicants for two tenure-track nine-month faculty positions at the Associate Professor level to begin August 2017 or later. These positions are available through the interdisciplinary multi-college UF Preeminence Initiative in Drug Discovery and Development. Although the research area is open, a research portfolio that focuses on chemical applications in human health and biochemistry including cancer development, inflammatory diseases and emerging pathogens is preferred. Example areas of interest include: (a) screening and development of biomarkers and probes, (b) design and synthesis of delivery systems for treatment; (c) structural biology, drug design and synthesis; (d) drug design driven by computer modeling; (e) developments in cellular and molecular imaging and tumor mapping. Successful candidates are also expected to interact with UF’s Cancer Center directly or through collaboration with other investigators.
The successful candidate will have an established, internationally recognized research program in chemistry and a strong demonstrated record of combining scholarship and teaching. Candidates will be considered at the Associate Professor level and have a Ph.D. in a relevant area. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and includes a full benefits package.
