Development Scientist, Meat m/f

Reporting to the Research & Development Manager – Meat, you will have the following main missions: • Define, manage and deliver projects that will result in products with new consumer benefits, based on deep scientific insights combined with next generation technology; • Manage the "Meat Science" sub-programme to deliver enhanced Taste functionality; • Personally manage mid-long term projects related to the agreed meat strategy. Responsibilities • Engage analytical team and external resources for a better understanding of our products and processes; • Support and manage the Meat IP strategy for the Taste Platform; • Drive joint development with Universities and other institutes to include science in innovative projects; • Explore new research opportunities and share with R&D, category, regulatory, purchasing and operation teams to support the innovation roadmap; • Through regular innovation meeting, propose and implement appropriate changes to develop innovation around taste from meat; • Follow company Safety policy, comply with Code of Conduct, strictly apply relevant regulation during project development; • Develop and maintain the relevant technical expertise for self and others; • Proactively provide support to Sales teams (including customer visits, selected trade shows etc) to ensure the business objectives of their R&D platform are met; • As part of the R&D Management team, support and contribute to the development of R&D operations in domains such as people development and creative idea generation. Required Qualifications • Strong scientific background; • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the chemical and/or biochemical industry; • Strong knowledge in analytical chemistry: chromatography, GC-MS, proteins analysis, microscopy…; and experience dealing with research centres; • Experience of working in international teams; • Fluent English; German a as plus.
