Assistant/Associate Professor of Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry, Computer and Physical Sciences at Southeastern Oklahoma State University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor of chemistry. Position beings August 1, 2017, will be contingent on University funding. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. We are seeking broadly trained candidates with the Ph.D. in organic chemistry, who are willing to contribute to our existing undergraduate research programs. Teaching responsibilities will include organic chemistry (lecture and lab), freshman level chemistry, advanced chemistry courses, and physical science support courses. Tenure track faculty are expected to develop and maintain an active research program. ABD’s with a reasonable expectation of completing requirements for the Ph.D. by August 1, 2017, will also be considered.
Southeastern Oklahoma State University, founded in 1909, with a student enrollment of approximately 4200, is located in Durant, Oklahoma, 80 miles north of Dallas, Texas, and 150 miles southeast of Oklahoma City. The chemistry program graduates around 15 majors and annually has a strong pre-professional service component.
