Altria Client Services' role is to help Altria Group and its operating companies responsibly meet their business goals by providing the high quality services they require in a financially disciplined way. We are currently seeking a highly qualified Chemical Engineer to join our Process Engineering department in Richmond, VA.
The successful candidate will identify, design, and develop processing technologies to support product innovation and operating company business.
Specific accountabilities include:
Identifying, designing, and developing processing technologies to support product innovation and company businesses.
Developing processes for new product concepts where no precedence exists.
Designing and conducting tests of process equipment, and/or reviewing performance data to provide assessments.
Determining root causes of process problems and recommending solutions.
Planning and executing process development activities in multiple environments, including laboratory, pilot plant, manufacturing, and vendor sites.
Working cross-functionally to commercialize new processes.
Regularly communicating results to leadership through formal reports and presentations.
A BS Degree in Chemical Engineering.
5+ years of chemical engineering and/or process engineering work experience.
Process development, process design, and troubleshooting experience.
Strong background in Chemical Engineering and process theory with working knowledge of unit operations, process controls, transport phenomena and thermodynamics.
GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) processing / requirements knowledge is preferred.
Experience with food processing and process design is a plus.
Good communication skills.
Working knowledge of project management fundamentals.
Good Computer Skills: Ability to use Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
This position may involve extensive travel and extended time in manufacturing, pilot, and lab environments that require the use of PPE.
