The Department of Chemistry at Iowa State University, located in Ames, IA, is seeking a Lecturer in Organic Chemistry beginning August 16, 2017. The Lecturer position is a 7/8-time, 9 month appointment, non-tenure eligible, 3-year term.

Teaching responsibilities include instruction of undergraduate students including development of relevant course materials for assigned courses. Anticipated courses are within the general chemistry and undergraduate organic chemistry curriculum, depending on the expertise of the successful candidate and needs of the Department. The incumbent will also serve on a variety of departmental committees which support the teaching mission of the Department. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others.

Required qualifications: PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field and a demonstrated ability to communicate verbally, in writing, and through technology.

Preferred qualifications: Demonstrated experience teaching a lecture course experience as the instructor of record and a specialty at the graduate level in organic chemistry.
