<p>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;The primary responsibilities of this role, Metabolism &amp;amp; Residue Chemistry Scientist I, are to:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;ul&gt; &lt;li&gt;Support Bayer CropScience safety programs and enforce work place safety;&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Act as Good Laboratory Practice study director or principal analytical investigator for regulatory and non-guideline or investigative metabolism and residue studies. Solve day-to-day problems in study conduct thereby ensuring that studies progress to required deadlines.&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Accurately assess and forecast the time and resources needed to complete the assigned studies and projects. Write, review, and develop improvements in study protocols that will satisfactorily achieve specific regulatory and business objectives. Evaluate new techniques and procedures in the area of agrochemical testing. Make recommendations as to their adoption into Environmental Safety (EnSa) programs as appropriate;&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;May plan and direct the work of one or more scientists or technicians performing a variety of complex tasks. Coordinate and review work of external contractors. Provide guidance and support to other study participants taking overall responsibility for successful completion of the study.&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Evaluate data and prepare reports for submission to regulatory authorities ensuring that the study meets the required business objective. Tailor the report presentation to address a specific regulatory concern;&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Ensure that emerging technical information is shared with other functions in EnSa and R&amp;amp;D. Be an active participant in the EnSa Technical Team process for area of expertise. Represent the Environmental Safety function internally within Bayer CropScience or represent Bayer CropScience externally at industry meetings or at discussions with regulatory agencies;&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Ensure that all Good Laboratory Practice regulations are communicated to study participants and are strictly observed.&lt;/li&gt; &lt;/ul&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;WHO YOU ARE&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values.&amp;nbsp; More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Required Qualifications:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;ul&gt; &lt;li&gt;Ph.D. in a relevant field of study or M.S. in a relevant field of study, with a minimum of two (2) years&amp;rsquo; relevant experience or &amp;nbsp;B.S. in a relevant field of study, with a minimum of five (5) years&amp;rsquo; relevant experience;&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Must be able to work independently;&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Excellent organization skills with regard to the collection, presentation, and archive of experimental data;&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;&lt;/li&gt; &lt;li&gt;An ability to train less experienced scientists, mentor and develop junior staff, and promote team based approaches to Bayer CropScience development programs.&lt;/li&gt; &lt;/ul&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;Preferred Qualifications:&lt;/p&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;ul&gt; &lt;li&gt;Familiarity with plant and animal metabolism studies or metabolic pathways preferred.&lt;/li&gt; &lt;/ul&gt;</p>
