The Department of Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University invites applications for two tenure-eligible, Assistant Professors Positions in Synthetic Organic Chemistry to begin in fall 2018. These hirings are part of the Chemistry Department Partnership with the Pharmaceutical Engineering Initiative at VCU. The candidates are expected to develop and maintain a funded, nationally recognized research program in Organic Chemistry. Teaching will primarily be in undergraduate and graduate courses in Organic Chemistry. The candidate’s research interests should complement those of existing faculty. Those candidates with organic chemistry interests especially advanced organic synthesis, natural product synthesis, and parallel/automated synthesis are particularly encouraged to apply. A Ph.D. in chemistry is required and post-doctoral experience is strongly encouraged. Well qualified candidates at higher ranks may be considered, contingent on funding availability.
