SOUTHERN METHODIST UNIVERSITY THEORETCAL CHEMISTRY POSITION OPEN RANK
Position No. 00051413. The Computational and Theoretical Chemistry Group, (CATCO; (http://smu.edu/catco/), Department of Chemistry at Southern Methodist University (SMU), Dallas, Texas offers an open rank senior THEORETICAL CHEMISTRY position (Associate/Full Professor with tenure) starting August 1, 2018. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Theoretical Chemistry or a related discipline. The successful candidate i) is expected to engage in the new Theoretical Chemistry PhD program; therefore evidence of excellence in teaching Theoretical/Quantum Chemistry at the graduate levels is mandatory; ii) must demonstrate an outstanding record of research and external funding and is expected to complement the current research in the CATCO group; iii) will strongly benefit from the excellent high performance computing facilities available on the SMU campus. Although all sub-disciplines of Theoretical Chemistry will be considered, applicants with a strong background in Materials Science, Nanotechnology and Photonics including method development will be given special attention.
