The Amherst College Department of Chemistry (https://www.amherst.edu/academiclife/departments/chemistry) invites applications for a full-time, six-month visiting appointment at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor. The appointment will begin in January 2018 and will continue until June 2018.
Amherst College is one of the most diverse liberal arts colleges in the country. The position requires a Ph.D. in chemistry or related discipline and calls for teaching quantum mechanics—both lecture and lab—at the advanced undergraduate level. Opportunities for pursuing research in conjunction with ongoing programs in the department will also be available.
