The Chemistry Department at Lebanon Valley College invites applications from individuals with expertise in the area of Inorganic Chemistry for a one-year, visiting assistant professor position, with an opportunity to explore a three year renewable term appointment beginning in January 2018. The successful candidate will teach sophomore-level inorganic lecture and laboratory courses, a senior-level advanced inorganic course, and will contribute to introductory lecture and laboratory courses.  Opportunities may also develop for engaging in the College’s vital liberal arts curriculum.  While the primary responsibilities of this position are teaching, the successful candidate will have access to a dedicated laboratory space already outfitted for synthetic inorganic work.  The College’s summer research program has engaged and supported students for almost 70 years and the successful candidate will be invited to mentor students in the program. Access to departmental facilities, instrumentation, and student research stipends will be provided, other research funds may be sought externally by the candidate.  The LVC Chemistry Department is accredited by the American Chemical Society with a long history of excellence in teaching and research, embracing the teacher-scholar ideal.  Learn more about our department at


This full-time position requires a Ph.D. in chemistry and previous teaching experience.  Candidates with experience in innovative pedagogies and new educational technologies are encouraged to apply, as are those whose developing areas of expertise and research interests complement existing departmental expertise.
