Analytical Chemistry Tenure-Track Position
Whittier College, an Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Chemistry (Analytical) starting September 2018.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry (ABD considered), post-doctoral experience preferred. Excellence in teaching and commitment to the liberal arts are essential qualifications. Teaching responsibilities will include Quantitative Analysis, General Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, and courses that contribute to the College’s liberal education program. A willingness to teach interdisciplinary courses such as Science and Society or First-Year Writing is also highly desirable.
Candidates will be judged primarily on their teaching ability and their dedication to close interaction with undergraduates. Advisement of undergraduate students and service to the department and the College is required. Maintaining an active research program with undergraduate students is expected.
