The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Florida International University invites applications for a Tenure-Track, Assistant Professor position in Organic Chemistry to begin in August 2018.  A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field and research plans in organic or organic materials chemistry with potential applications in nuclear chemistry or radiochemistry. is expected. The successful candidate: (a) Must develop a vigorous, extramurally funded research program at FIU with substantial graduate and undergraduate student involvement. (b) Will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of Organic Chemistry, plus additional courses in his / her area of specialization. (c) Is expected to play a major role in the growth of our doctoral Nuclear Chemistry/Radiochemistry Track. Additional details for this position can be found at http://chemistry.fiu.edu.

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, with 37 faculty, has dynamic and growing Ph.D. programs in Chemistry and Biochemistry supporting over 100 graduate students, as well as a vibrant undergraduate program with ~100 B.A. and B.S. graduates each year.
