Chemical and Biomedical Engineering

The department of Chemical & Biomedical Engineering at the University of South Florida invites applications for tenure-track faculty.  An earned Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field and a clear potential for national prominence through externally funded research and teaching are required.  Exceptional applicants for the rank of Associate/Full Professor will also be considered and must have demonstrated strong and existing capabilities in externally funded research, instruction, and mentoring of students.  Applications from all areas of chemical engineering in the fields of energy and sustainability, advanced materials, and biotechnology/bioprocess engineering, are welcome. The Department has sixteen (16) faculty members and offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degree programs.  The faculty members have strong collaborations with all departments within the College of Engineering, as well as the Colleges of Medicine, Arts & Sciences, Behavioral and Community Sciences and Education.  In addition, the faculty members have strong ties with several centers and institutes at USF, which include leadership roles in the Global Center for Hearing and Speech Research, Clean Energy Research Center, Florida Energy Systems Consortium, and Functional Materials Research Institute.  Strong collaborations exist with members of the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, Center for Assistive Rehabilitation Robotics & Technologies,  Center for Wireless and Microwave Information Systems, and USF Health Byrd Alzheimer’s Institute.  Detailed information about the Department can be found at http://chbme.eng.usf.edu.
