Visiting Assistant ProfessorChemistry
Simpson College, a private liberal arts institution in Indianola, Iowa, invites applications for a one year (Academic Year 2018-19) position in chemistry at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor. A PhD in Chemistry or closely related area is expected (ABD will be considered).
The candidate will be expected to teach the Organic Chemistry lecture sequence and the associated laboratories. Depending on the expertise of the candidate and need of the department an additional lecture course of their choosing may be added. The chemistry program at Simpson offers majors in Chemistry, Biochemistry and Forensics Science with 30-40 majors.
Applications should include a cover letter describing interest and qualifications for the position, a current curriculum vita, and at least two letters of recommendation from those who can comment on your potential as a teacher. Please include in your cover letter, or in a separate document, your approach to teaching chemistry at a liberal arts college.
