Faculty Position in Analytical Chemistry
FACULTY POSITION IN ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
The Department of Chemistry at North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Analytical Chemistry, starting in August, 2018. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in analytical chemistry or a related field and postdoctoral experience is required. A general expertise and potential to initiate applied analytical chemistry research that will align with the Department and the College’s interests is highly desired.
The ideal candidate will develop and maintain a vigorous research program in either environmental sensor development or applied analytical chemistry projects including environmental toxicity issues with societal impact, secure extramural funding, and direct the research activities of graduate students including the newly approved PhD program in Applied Science and Technology (AST program). Mentoring undergraduate research students is also expected as chemistry majors in the department follow a research intensive curriculum. The hired faculty should also be committed to teaching excellence. She/he is expected to teach analytical chemistry courses as well as other chemistry courses both at the graduate and undergraduate level, develop courses and curricula, direct students in research, and provide service to the University and community. A candidate with a teaching and research efforts that promote the mission of the Chemistry Department and the strategic vision of the College of Science and Technology as well as the University is desired.
