The bicoastal Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) is conducting a faculty search for four tenure-track Assistant Professors; two will be located on the La Jolla, CA campus, and two will be located on the Jupiter, FL campus.  The area of research is open, but should fit within the broad scope of research in chemical and biological sciences at TSRI.  Areas of emphasis include chemistry, immunology, molecular medicine, and structural biology.

The Scripps Research Institute — one of the world's largest, private, non-profit research organizations — is at the forefront of basic biomedical science, with faculty undertaking medical research that seeks to comprehend the most fundamental processes of life. Over the last decades, the Institute has established its core strengths in biomedical research at the interfaces between chemical and biological sciences.  The Institute is organized into two campuses, one in La Jolla, California, and one in Jupiter, Florida.  TSRI recently formed a strategic alliance with Calibr, a not-for-profit drug discovery Institute, providing a link between the basic research of TSRI and the translational research of Calibr.  TSRI has a vibrant Ph.D. program that is ranked in the top 10 in chemical and biological sciences.  TSRI has a collegial and collaborative environment, where faculty, students and postdoctoral fellows can freely interact across campuses and disciplines to form synergy in emerging areas of research.

Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent in a relevant discipline, and an outstanding record of research that demonstrates originality in addressing significant questions. Successful candidates will be expected to establish an active research group, be an interactive member of the faculty, and participate in interdisciplinary research and training.

A bicoastal Search Committee with representatives across disciplines will review the applications.  Applicants will be selected for interviews on a specific campus starting in early 2018.
