The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Office of Foods and Veterinary Medicine (OFVM), Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM), Office of New Animal Drug Evaluation (ONADE), Division of Manufacturing Technologies (DMT) is seeking qualified applicants for an Interdisciplinary Scientist (Biologist/Microbiologist/Chemist) position. DMT evaluates the Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) information for new animal drugs to determine that it is adequate to insure the identity, strength, quality, and purity of products. DMT participates in the development and implementation of regulations, guidance, and policies pertaining to the manufacturing of drugs intended for animal use. Through our independent and collaborative reviews and evaluations, we support the Center’s scientific and regulatory goals to approve safe and effective animal drugs. This position will be filled through FDA’s Staff Fellowship program. The appointment is up to 2 years with opportunity for renewal.
Positions are open on multiple teams within DMT, ONADE. As a reviewer, you will analyze and interpret scientific investigations, technical data, opinions, and related information, and make written recommendations for Agency action regarding (Abbreviated) New Animal Drug Applications and (Generic) Investigational New Animal Drug submissions.
Applicants must have a degree in chemical or biological sciences. Applicants must be proficient in data analysis, laboratory techniques, and analytical thinking. Applicants must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Hoteling, along with a strong telework program and strong electronic communication and workflow tools, affords employees in ONADE the flexibility to balance work/life demands while contributing to our high performing organization.
The position is located in Rockville, Maryland and is available immediately. The salary range for the GS-11 equivalent level is from $68,036 to $88,450, and for the GS-12 equivalent level is from $81,548 to $106,012, with entry grade and salary based on experience and education.
