Materials Modeling and Prediction Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Modeling and Prediction Specialist for composite materials to work as an expert in the Modeling and Prediction Team, under the Oil & Gas Network Integrity Division within our Research and Development Department.
Oil & Gas Network Integrity (OGNI) focuses on rapid technology development aiming at providing solutions for integrity-related challenges. The overarching goal of the division is to decrease the annual cost of corrosion and its related activities including inspection, monitoring, and maintenance.
You will contribute to the research and development (R&D) projects portfolio, which mostly consists of developing software-based technologies to monitor environment-assisted deterioration, predict life cycle of equipment, and design nonmetallic composite systems such as pipes.
The development of technologies is performed in collaboration with proponent organizations that provide technical and design requirement along with the required support to perform field tests and demonstrations at the Company’s operating facilities.
As the successful candidate, you will hold a master’s degree in material science, mechanical engineering, or a related field. A Ph.D. degree in the field of composite materials and structures is preferred.
You will have at least ten years of experience in metallic and nonmetallic pipeline sizing.
You should have experience in the development of composite structures and show some theoretical and practical knowledge in this area, preferably from the oil and gas industry. Alongside noticeable experience in corrosion modeling, you must possess good knowledge of material modeling approaches.
Significant experience in ANSYS and/or COMSOL software, along with some experience in the field of software development will be expected.
Most importantly, you will be expected to complement the team with solid experience in the development of polymer-based oil and gas product, particularly composite pipelines.
Duties & Responsibilities:
You will be required to perform the following:
Plan and execute R&D projects within the overall research program of the division.
Coordinate project team members, perform techno-economic analyses, and deliver technical presentations.
Set up and follow up on physical tests of material samples or of finished oil and gas products including plant visits to obtain information pertaining to assigned projects and perform field testing activities.
Develop and file patents and present technical findings in published journal articles and Company meetings.
Report project and tasks advancement to management via corporate tools and actively participate in promoting innovation by sharing ideas.
