Research Scientist, Biomolecular Measurement Division, Material Measurement Laboratory, National Institute of Standards & Technology
The Biomolecular Measurement Division in the Material Measurement Division at the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) is seeking a Research Scientist to advance its research program in the production of state-of-the-art liposomes for delivery of genetic materials to biological cells. Candidates should have experience at the graduate level in one or more of the following areas: (1) design, production and operation of microfluidic systems, (2) production, purification and analysis of liposomes and/or colloidal systems and/or (3) mammalian cell culture techniques. The research scientist will work in a NIST research laboratory to develop and advance NIST-developed techniques to synthesize, characterize, and implement liposomes for applications involving the delivery of therapeutic and/or genetic materials to biological cells and to assess the effect of these materials on the biological cells.
The position is a full-time government employee with an initial appointment of 24 months and provides full civil-servant benefits including:

The principal duties for this position are at the Gaithersburg, MD campus of NIST. The salary range for this position is $68,036 to $106,012 per annum. Candidates should have an advanced degree in biology, biomedical engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering or related field.
