Position open for one Mass Spectrometer Faculty Associate to perform metabolomics, lipidomics and flux estimation assays, for the Stable Isotope and Metabolomics Core Facility at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The Core has a Waters Xevo triple quadrapole MS with Aquity UPLC, LTQ-Orbitrap with Advion Nanomate and Dionex UPLC, a Sciex 6500+ QTRAP with Eksigent UPLC and Selexion + ion mobility, 2 Agilent single quad GC/MS, one configured for large volume injection, and a high resolution Waters GC/TOF-MS. Projects require devising UPLC protocols, mass spectrometric method development and targeted assays, as well as untargeted analysis for biomarker discovery, and flux analysis.

 

Mass spec specialist should have at least a Master's Degree and 3+ years appropriate LC/MS experience and bioinformatics/programming experience. Must have triple quad MS experience be able to operate, troubleshoot and maintain the Xevo TQ MS and the Sciex 6500+ QTRAP/MS. Knowledge of Orbitrap operation is a plus.   Ph.D preferred, and if background is in proteomics, we are happy to (re-)train for metabolomics and lipidomics, as some projects may require multi-omic characterizations. Duties will include sample preparation, sample organization and storage and billing. Salary commensurate with experience.
