THE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON invites
applications for a full-time, nine-month lecturer position in chemistry (with possibility of renewal), starting August 16, 2018. A typical teaching load will consist of four lecture courses in general chemistry, with the possibility of teaching chemistry for non-science majors or organic chemistry. The Chemistry Department recently instituted a complete revision of its General Chemistry curriculum with an eye towards improving student success in both General and Organic Chemistry. The successful candidate must have a M.S. in chemistry or 30 hours of graduate work chemistry toward s Ph.D. in chemistry, be willing and able to teach undergraduate general chemistry lecture courses, have a strong interest in developing innovative pedagogies for the 1st year chemistry course sequence, have strong written communication skills, and experience teaching general chemistry.
