Complex Systems Faculty Cluster Search

The College of Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology has prioritized Complex Systems Science as a strategic growth area. To establish RIT as a national leader in this area, white papers are invited for a cluster of faculty who are successfully collaborating as a team in any area of Complex Systems Science. The two-page white paper should:

• identify a focal area within Complex Systems Science;

• detail the expertise of the members;

• identify synergies realizable by colocation of the team on a single campus;

• justify the proposed team’s composition;

• identify funding trends for the area, including specific sources of current funding;

• outline start-up requirements, including salaries, instrumentation and other infrastructure;

• discuss potential collaborations, if relevant, with other groups at RIT;

• identify existing graduate programs within RIT, and suggest new graduate programs, in which the team members will train graduate students

Confidentiality will be maintained with respect to both the science described and identities of investigators.

Faculty appointments, expected to be made at the Associate and Full Professor ranks, can be made within or between any of the six academic units of the College of Science:: The Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science; The School of Chemistry and Materials Science; The Integrated Sciences Academy; The Thomas H. Gosnell School of Life Sciences; The School of Mathematical Sciences; and The School of Physics and Astronomy.

For additional information, contact Casey W. Miller, Associate Dean for Research. White papers should be submitted directly to and will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
