Research Associate – Radiochemist or Postdoctoral Fellow
The Cyclotron and Radiochemistry Program at the University of Texas Southwestern is looking to fill two (2) postdoctoral positions as well as a (1) position of Research Associate.
The Department of Radiology has recently established the Cyclotron and Radiochemistry Program (http://www.utsouthwestern.edu/research/cyclotron/index.html) along with a Preclinical Nuclear Medicine and Imaging Laboratory. With research focus on the design, synthesis, and biological evaluations of targeted diagnostic and therapeutic agents for noninvasive disease detection and therapy assessment, the Program is determined to stay at the forefront of Molecular Imaging.
Motivated individuals with career interest in molecular imaging are encouraged to apply for the Research Associate position. A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemistry is strongly preferred. Job responsibilities include conducting synthesis and quality control of radiotracers for clinical and preclinical research, as well as the corresponding documentations. Hands-on experience with medical radioisotopes and radiotracer production is desirable but not required.
Postdoctoral Fellows of Synthetic Chemistry for Molecular Imaging
Recent graduates with Ph.D. in synthetic chemistry are encouraged to apply for the two immediate postdoctoral position openings. The Cyclotron and Radiochemistry Program is seeking highly motivated synthetic chemists with the career goal to become industry or academic imaging scientists to work on projects with research focus on rational design, synthesis, and biological evaluations of targeted diagnostic and therapeutic agents for innovative disease detection and intervention. Hands-on experience with small animal imaging, medical radioisotopes, and live animals is desirable but not required.
