Job Summary and Minimum Qualifications:
The Department of Chemistry at Carthage College invites applications for a full-time two-year visiting appointment starting in August 2018. The successful candidate will teach in the introductory chemistry curriculum for science majors and non-majors. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Chemistry or an M.S. in Chemistry with post-secondary teaching experience and a strong commitment to excellent teaching.
The Chemistry Department is ACS certified and has just moved into a newly expanded and renovated science center. The average class size at Carthage is 17 students and most chemistry courses are capped at 24 students. Department equipment includes a 400-MHz NMR, GC-MS, HPLC, IC, GC, FTIR, MP-AES, and UV/VIS. The department strongly supports undergraduate research.
