A postdoctoral researcher position is available in the Protein Chemistry and Molecular Biology Section (PCMBS) of the Molecular Targets Program (MTP), Center for Cancer Research (CCR), National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH). The PCMBS is seeking a postdoctoral fellow with published expertise in enzyme kinetics and in-vitro inhibitor/activator mechanism of action studies to actively develop and implement high-throughput assays for the discovery and characterization of biologically active synthetic and natural product-derived compounds.  The selected candidate must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills (TOEFL scores must be submitted for non-native English-speaking applicants) and excellent interpersonal skills for working in a collaborative team-based research environment. It is preferred that the candidate have experience with high-throughput screen development and troubleshooting for bioactive small molecule discovery, recombinant protein purification and evaluation, excellent molecular biology skills (western blot, PCR, mammalian and bacterial cell culture techniques), and experience in natural products research.

The position is located at the NCI-Frederick, MD campus.  The candidate must have a Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemistry, pharmacology, or an applicable related field from an accredited research institution within the last three years (degree must be conferred by September 30, 2018).  The fellowship duration is 5 years based on performance and yearly evaluations.  The position is not restricted to U.S. citizens.  The fellowship stipend starts from $54,100 per annum, and is determined based on years of relevant experience and qualifications.  Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV with bibliography, and three letters of reference to:  The projected start date for this position is October 1, 2018.
