Seeking an Exceptional Synthetic Organic Chemist / Medicinal Chemist

The Kelly Laboratory at The Scripps Research Institute seeks a post-doctoral fellow trained in synthetic organic chemistry who wants to learn medicinal chemistry, or a person trained in medicinal chemistry to help develop a first-in-class drug for light chain amyloidosis, ideally starting in September 2018. We aim to transform hits discovered by a high-throughput screen into development candidates for kinetically stabilizing antibody light chains (LCs). The Kelly lab has a proven track record of developing drugs for amyloid diseases. Structure-based drug design is enabled by our LC-kinetic stabilizer co-crystal structure, which allows a more focused approach to enhance potency, selectivity and the physical properties of the drug.
