Two Tenure-Track Chemistry Positions

The Department of Chemistry at Furman University invites applications to fill two open-rank, tenure-track positions to begin in August 2019. One position is in the area of biochemistry and the other is in either the area of analytical or physical chemistry. Applicants must hold a Ph. D. in chemistry or biochemistry with postdoctoral experience strongly preferred. Furman has a strong history of excellent teaching and mentoring, including a vigorous year-round research program with undergraduate students. In support of this program, the department maintains state-of-the-art research facilities with instrument holdings matching that found at many Ph. D. granting institutions. The successful candidate is expected to establish a nationally competitive undergraduate research program and be an excellent classroom instructor. The department is particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and/or service.
