Assistant Professor of Analytical Chemistry
Required: Undergraduate degree in chemistry and a Ph.D. (by August 15, 2019) in analytical chemistry or closely related field. Experience in environmental chemistry preferred. Post-doctoral experience preferred.
Candidates for the position need to demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to:
- Excellence in classroom and laboratory teaching at all levels
- Mentoring and teaching students with diverse academic backgrounds
- Developing a strong, externally funded undergraduate research program
- Teaching chemistry courses within the liberal arts context
The applicant will be expected to develop and implement a new Environmental Chemistry course. Additional teaching responsibilities include the introductory chemistry lecture and laboratories, research-based senior seminar courses, quantitative analysis, instrumental analytical chemistry lecture and labs and other courses in the candidate's area of expertise. The ability to instruct in the use of modern analytical methods will be expected.
