Department of Chemical Engineering

Assistant Professor

The MIT Department of Chemical Engineering (https://cheme.mit.edu/) invites candidates for faculty positions starting August 2018 or thereafter. One or more appointments are available at the assistant or untenured associate professor level and will be located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In special cases, a senior faculty appointment may also be possible.  Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering or a related field by the start of their employment. Candidates with research and teaching interests in all areas relevant to the field of chemical engineering will be considered as always. This year we have particular interest in the areas of bioengineering and/or biotechnology, and process systems engineering.  The successful candidate is expected to advise students, and develop and teach chemical engineering courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as to develop a sponsored research program and be involved in service to MIT and the profession.

Interested candidates should submit application materials electronically at https://school-of-engineering-faculty-search.mit.edu/cheme/. Each application must include: a curriculum vitae; the names and addresses of three or more references; a strategic statement of research interests; and a statement of teaching interests. It is the responsibility of the candidate to arrange for reference letters to be uploaded at https://school-of-engineering-faculty-search.mit.edu/letters/.

Please address questions to Search-Master@school-of-engineering-faculty-search.mit.edu. Responses received by December 1, 2018, will be given priority.

With MIT’s strong commitment to diversity in engineering education, research and practice we especially encourage minorities and women to apply.
