The Department of Chemistry at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. We seek an individual with expertise in mass spectrometry to increase use of the newly enhanced chemistry mass spectrometry facility, including a recently installed 15T FT-ICR (https://ms.unl.edu/), for investigating cutting edge biological questions at the molecular level. The successful candidate will complement current biomedical research expertise in the Department of Chemistry (https://chem.unl.edu/) and the intercampus Nebraska Center for Integrated Biomolecular Communication (http://ncibc.unl.edu/). Specific research areas of interest include, but are not limited to, mass spectrometry imaging, top down proteomics, protein structure and dynamics, and discovery metabolomics. The anticipated start date is August 2019.

Minimum qualifications for the position include a PhD in chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics or allied discipline and the ability to contribute to introductory level chemistry teaching as well as upper division and graduate level courses. Preferred qualifications include a strong record of scholarly activity, and strong evidence for the potential to develop an impactful, externally-funded research program.
