The Department of Biochemistry invites applications for multiple tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking individuals that apply the tools of chemical, computational and structural biology to topics of biomedical relevance. Candidates with expertise in structure-based methods for drug discovery are especially encouraged to apply. The Medical College of Wisconsin (www.mcw.edu) is the largest private research institution in Wisconsin, conducting nearly $150 million annually in funded research. The Department of Biochemistry (www.mcw.edu/biochemistry) is equipped with state-of-the-art X-ray, NMR and mass spectrometry facilities. MCW recently established the Research Computing Center, a shared resource for high-performance computing, and MCW is home to an NIH-designated National Biomedical EPR Center and the Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute of Southeast Wisconsin (ctsi.mcw.edu). Institutional disease-focused initiatives and established centers for cardiovascular, neuroscience, infectious disease, genetics and cancer research provide translational opportunities for structure-based drug discovery. Applicants must have a doctoral degree, at least two years of postdoctoral training, a strong publication record, and potential to obtain extramural funding.
