The Chemistry Department invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2019. Strong applicants will have expertise to teach Biochemistry, lecture and laboratory, and will bring to the department an area of research in biochemistry or chemical biology. Other teaching responsibilities may include Introductory Chemistry, and/or our junior-level integrated laboratory course. Newly hired faculty teach four courses (usually a combination of lectures and labs) in the first year. In following years, the standard course load per academic year is five courses. The successful candidate will be expected to guide student research during the summer and advise the required Senior Project during the academic year. Strong candidates will have the potential to develop a research program of interest to concentrators in both Chemistry and Biochemistry/Molecular Biology. A Ph.D. and postdoctoral or equivalent experience required. Applicants must demonstrate excellence, or the potential for excellence, in teaching and research with undergraduates. Experience teaching or working with diverse student populations is an asset. Excellent startup support and research space in a state-of-the-art facility will be provided.
