Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor Molecular Engineering
The Institute for Molecular Engineering (IME) is a unique interdisciplinary institute launched by the University of Chicago in 2011 with the aim of translating molecular-level science into technological solutions with potential societal impact in health care, energy, environmental sustainability and information technology. An independent unit within the university, IME is also affiliated with Argonne National Laboratory, and joint appointment is encouraged when appropriate.
IME invites applications for one or more faculty positions. Please see our website (https://ime.uchicago.edu/) for a description of some of the research themes highlighted in IME. We will consider applicants doing research appropriate for any of the themes, and indeed in any area of molecular engineering. In addition, this year we are particularly focused on research on water and energy, as well as in theory and computation in any area. We invite applications at the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. Candidates must have a doctoral degree in a relevant field of study and have an outstanding research record. Successful candidates will be expected to establish and maintain a strong research program and to teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
To apply, please visit the University of Chicago's Academic Career Opportunities website, https://academiccareers.uchicago.edu/. To be considered for a position at the rank of Assistant Professor, please apply to Requisition #03804; for Associate Professor, to Requisition #03806; and for Professor, to Requisition #03808. Applicants are required to upload a cover letter, curriculum vitae that includes a list of publications, and research and teaching statements. In addition, candidates for Assistant Professor are requested to provide the names and contact information for three references, who will be contacted separately for letters of recommendation. Review of completed (including recommendation letters) applications will begin on October 15, 2018, and will continue until the positions are filled.
