Senior Assistant Researcher
The Synthetic Chemical Biology Core (SCBC) Laboratory at the University of Kansas invites applications for an Senior Assistant Researcher to assist faculty investigators with organic synthesis in the Core’s interdisciplinary studies. As a part of the NIH COBRE Center for Molecular Analysis of Disease Pathways at KU, the SCBC provides investigators with comprehensive synthetic chemistry capabilities to facilitate research in analysis of disease-related molecular pathways. The Senior Assistant Researcher position in the SCBC is responsible for synthesizing, purifying and characterizing target compounds. The target compounds can include small molecules, peptides and fluorescent probes. The successful candidate for this position will have a Master’s degree (or Bachelor’s degree + 3 years of work experience) in organic chemistry or a related field. Experience in medicinal chemistry, chemical biology and/or solid phase peptide synthesis is desirable but not required.
