The Chemistry and Geochemistry Department at Montana Tech is seeking a tenure-track assistant professor with expertise in physical chemistry, computational chemistry or another closely related discipline. This position requires an earned Ph.D. by the job start date of August 15, 2019 and is contingent on funding. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in Physical Chemistry lecture and laboratory and other chemistry courses as needed. Development of an active, funded research program is expected using both undergraduate and graduate students. Research areas including, but not limited to, physical chemistry, physical organic chemistry, physical biochemistry, computational chemistry and materials science chemistry are targeted for strategic development within the department and campus, as is supporting the newly proposed Earth Science and Engineering PhD program.
