The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Wayne State University invites applications for a full-time faculty appointment in Computational/Theoretical Biological Physics at the tenure-track assistant professor rank with an anticipated start date in August 2019. Appointments at higher ranks may be considered for exceptional applicants. We are seeking an individual with an outstanding research record whose work will complement the Biomedical Physics program and the existing research areas in biological physics within the department. Our department consists of 28 faculty members with active research programs in biological physics, condensed matter and materials physics, relativistic heavy ion physics, particle physics, astrophysics, and atomic physics. The successful candidate is expected to become an effective teacher at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to establish an internationally recognized, externally funded research program in computational/theoretical biological physics. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in physics or a related field.
