Organic Chemistry Lecturer
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for a lecturer position in the Undergraduate Organic Chemistry Laboratory. This is a nine month, non-tenure track appointment with a flexible starting date of January 2019; possible annual renewal for up to an additional two years contingent on satisfactory performance and approval of the Dean. Responsibilities include organic chemistry laboratory instruction and curriculum development; supervision, mentoring, and training of Teaching Assistants; and supervision of laboratory technician(s). The instructor will serve on departmental committees and will advise the Department Chair, Executive Director and Undergraduate Chair on matters related to organic chemistry laboratory instruction. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Organic Chemistry, a strong interest and demonstrated success in undergraduate teaching and curriculum development, and outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills.
