Computational Physical Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry and Environmental Science (CES) at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Physical Chemistry, with a leading interest in computational chemistry, starting in the Fall of 2019. Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical physics, chemical engineering, or closely related field, from an accredited institution; and relevant postdoctoral research experience. The successful candidate is expected to establish an active, externally funded research program and demonstrate excellence in graduate and undergraduate teaching, particularly in Physical Chemistry related courses. Competitive salary, startup funds, and laboratory space will be provided.
The CES Department (http://chemistry.njit.edu) is in a dynamic growth phase, with eight new hires in the past five years, and a recent renovation and expansion of facilities. Committed to exceptional core education and excellence in research and scholarship, the Department offers BS, MS, and PhD Chemistry, BS Biochemistry, MS Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and BS, MS, and PhD Environmental Science degrees, and in Fall 2018 began offering a BS degree in Forensic Science. NJIT, with an enrollment of over 11,000 students, is conveniently located in the New York metropolitan area, providing excellent collaboration opportunities with neighboring academic institutions, industries, and Brookhaven National Lab.
