Visiting Assistant Professor (Organic Chemistry)
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Oberlin College invites applications for a full-time non-continuing faculty position in the College of Arts and Sciences. Appointment to this position will be for a term of one year, beginning fall semester of 2019, and will carry the rank of Assistant Professor.
The incumbent will teach a total of five courses over two semesters, in both lecture and laboratory settings, including first and second semester organic chemistry and an advanced laboratory course. The incumbent may, as desired, supervise undergraduate students in research.
Among the qualifications required for appointment is the Ph.D degree (in hand or expected by the first semester of academic year 2019-20. Candidates must demonstrate interest and potential excellence in undergraduate teaching. Successful teaching experience at the college level is desirable.
