Lab Manager - Chemistry - Microbiology - Radiochemistry

Aquatek Lab is an independent environmental testing laboratory specializing in water and radon testing for residential and commercial applications. We have 3 locations in Connecticut and offer services to several states throughout New England. Aquatek is searching for a full-time lab director to manage all technical and administrative aspects of the laboratory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry (master’s or Ph.D. preferred)
• Areas of expertise
  • Analytical chemistry
  • Microbiology
  • Environmental radiochemistry
• Two-years’ experience in a commercial or research laboratory
• Familiarity with ICP-MS, ICP-OES, Ion Chromatography & Liquid Scintillation Counters

Responsibilities

• Maintain necessary accreditation for position of lab director
• Setup, trouble-shoot and maintain all instruments
• Manage all laboratory staff
• Work efficiently in a non-research laboratory
• Effectively communicate the status of the laboratory with upper level management
