Senior Lab Instructor

The University of Northern British Columbia, in conjunction with the Chemistry Program, invites applications for a full-time continuing position as Senior Laboratory Instructor. The preferred start date for this position is July 1, 2019.

The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to, lab instruction, supporting the undergraduate teaching labs, the preparation of lab manuals, supervision of teaching and lab assistants, and some lecture-based teaching of organic chemistry. In addition, you will be responsible for lab safety, ordering of chemicals and consumables, maintenance and organization of lab equipment, and liaising with administrative bodies regarding laboratory scheduling.

Applicants for this position must hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry, as well as present a record of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. As teaching will be a required component of the position, applicants are advised to present evidence of excellence in teaching.
