POSITION: Non-Tenure Track Teaching Faculty in Chemical Engineering
ANTICIPATED START DATE: August 1, 2019
LOCATION: Columbia, Missouri
GENERAL INFORMATION: The Chemical Engineering Program within the Department of Biomedical, Biological, and Chemical Engineering (BBCE) at the University of Missouri has several openings for hiring excellent teaching faculty.
SALARY: Compensation is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
NTT teaching faculty will augment the existing faculty within the program and be responsible for teaching an array of courses. We are seeking candidates who have a commitment to teaching excellence. The qualified candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written. Applicants are expected to have earned their PhD by the appointment start date. The positions are 9-month, full-time, non-tenure track (NTT) teaching appointments, ranging in title from Lecturer to Associate Teaching Professor. Candidates will be expected to teach up to four courses per semester at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, and to perform institutional and professional service.
Specifically, we are most interested in well-qualified applicants to fill any one of the following teaching positions: 1) NTT “Professor of Practice” to teach senior-level “Chemical Engineering Design”, and “Process Simulation and Design” courses each semester, as well as teach elective courses in support of our emphasis areas; 2) NTT teaching faculty possessing expertise with teaching a “Unit Operations Laboratory” with an emphasis on biochemical processes, transport phenomena, and heat transfer; and 3) NTT Instructional Designer with an expertise in developing, implementing, and delivering state-of-the-art courses electronically. Requirements for all NTT positions: B.S. in Chemical Engineering from an ABET certified program; Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
