Postdoctoral Positions in Medicinal Chemistry, Virginia Commonwealth University. Postdoc positions in medicinal chemistry are immediately available in the Zhang group at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, School of Pharmacy, Virginia Commonwealth University ( Our research is primarily on small molecule discovery and development for neurodegenerative disorders. The main duties of the positions are to design, synthesize and characterize small molecule neuroprotectants targeting risk factors implicated in neurological disorders with primary focus on Alzheimer’s disease. All candidates must have a PhD in medicinal chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences with strong background in organic synthesis. Experience in biochemical and/or molecular biology assays is preferred. Successful candidates will also be able to work and communicate within an interdisciplinary team. Fresh PhD graduates are encouraged to apply.
