Job Details

The Department of Chemistry at Covenant College, an agency of the Presbyterian Church in America and an academically rigorous Christian college emphasizing the liberal arts in the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position beginning July 1, 2019.

The candidate who fills this position will be an excellent teacher, will be dedicated to developing further as a Christian scholar and will be enthusiastic about active participation in the larger community of Christian scholars at the college.  The main, annual teaching assignment for the successful candidate will be the two-semester general chemistry sequence. Under the Chemistry Department’s current program, upper divisional courses are offered on a two-year cycle.  The successful candidate would be expected to teach the analytical chemistry/instrumental analysis sequence and the physical chemistry sequence in this rotation as well as participate in the general education core. A background in inorganic chemistry would best compliment the current faculty.  Interest in developing a research program appropriate for involving undergraduates will be an asset. A doctoral degree in Chemistry from a regionally accredited institution is preferred.  Rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Interested and qualified candidates should send the following documentation to Dr. Jeff Hall:

·         Curriculum Vitae

·         A Testimony of Christian Faith and Experience

·         A Response to the Westminster Confession (located at http://www.pcaac.org/resource3s/wcf/) indicating agreement, and any scruples, with rationales, with the Confession

·         Philosophy of Christian Higher Education
