Lecturer, Organic Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, invites applications for a non-tenure-track Lecturer position in Organic Chemistry during the 2019-2020 academic year. The primary responsibilities involve instruction of organic chemistry lecture courses. Workload is three course sections per semester or their equivalent.

Start date for the position is August 25, 2019.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will be full-time salary with full-time benefits. The term of this appointment will be for one academic year with the possibility of renewal.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field is required by appointment start date. Demonstrated teaching experience and a commitment to teaching excellence is required. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience with large lecture classes and innovative teaching methods.
